This week we began the ride with a quick side trip on Christopher’s Crossing to see the metal statues of pelicans and chickens that have been installed on the roadside. While the pelicans were still in evidence, the chickens had “flown the coop”; not an easy task when they were six feet tall! The only thing I can figure out is that the huge, 18 foot tall, orange dog that has been keeping watch at Rt. 15 and Hansonville Rd. (and is never there on Sundays) must have come over and scared them away. After negotiating both traffic circles we continued on, stopping at the store and taking our socially distanced picture at the watershed. The weather again cooperated and we had a gorgeous early autumn day to complete 22 miles. Riding were Victoria Arthaud, Mark Blau, Ray Gable, Judy Goffi, Mike Levengood, Alan Mitchell, Lee Rabideau, Diane Sharr, Roy Stevens, Dave Teash, Rick Thume, Louanne Welgoss, and Kathy Dollar.
