Seventeen of us left on a lovely day for what turned out to be an eventful ride. We did the usual things (photo op and store stop) and enjoyed the warm temperatures for this time of year. Because we were a large group, we broke up into smaller sections, leaving space between, as we rode. We were almost back, riding from Willowbrook Rd. onto Opossumtown Pike near the entrance to St. Katharine Drexel Church, when a silver Toyota Prius came by so closely that the right side mirror clipped Judy. The mirror broke off and Judy, being the excellent rider she is, managed to keep the bike upright and not fall into the car or the curb. Once stopped, Megan, who has EMT experience, gave Judy a quick check. She was bruised on her left side, but able to stand and move around. The car pulled into the parking lot at the church, but then left. Koman managed to get a photo as they drove away, but the license was not distinct. The police were called and the mirror turned over to the officer. Paul drove Judy back to Monocacy to get her car and she was able to drive home. She has been checked out by her doctor. No X-rays needed; just black and blue. A huge thank you to everyone who helped.
