Due to cold temperatures and the threat of ice and snow along some of
the roads, today’s ride was moved from 11:30 to 2:00. Five of us, Vicki
Crum, Kathy Dollar, Paul Ericson, Terry Eskuchen and Andrew Flint left
in warmer temperatures with partial sun. The major roads were clear
with only a few smaller roads having snow or ice along the edges. There
was plenty of melting by the latter part of the ride, so we had to go
through many puddles we couldn’t negotiate around. We could see plenty
of evidence of salt on the roads, as well. We followed the usual route
to the Mountaindale Store, climbed Fish Hatchery and stood in the snow
for our picture at the water shed. As the ride ended, everyone was
aware that they would be spending time at home cleaning bike frames and
