Utica Park-Wednesday Night Rides!

Starting Wednesday April 4, rides at Utica Park are back. Rides start at 6:00 PM. Most nights we will have B, CC, C and D rides. We still need ride leaders and backups.

When: Every Wednesday at 6:00 PM beginning on April 4

Where: Utica Park

Length: 20-40 miles at a B, CC, C or D pace

Leaders: Dennis W, Rick L, Diana/Lee R, Terry E, Charley K and others

Ride Description: A pleasant ride over typical rolling Frederick County terrain in and around Utica Park.


Please join us in the semi-annual adopt-a-road cleanup on April 14th from 10:00 to 11:30.    We will gather at the Bethel Lutheran Church at the corner of Bethel and Opossumtown Roads.  A ride is planned following the completion of the clean-up.

June Sojourn along the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP)

Paul Ericson, Lee Rabideau, Rick and Marily Ludwick are undertaking a three day trip along the GAP from Cumberland to Pittsburgh, overnighting in Rockwood and Connellsville.  They are looking for others to join them.  They are leaving Cumberland on Monday, June 4, 2018 and will return to Cumberland, via an arranged shuttle, on the afternoon the June 6, 2018.  Contact Paul Ericson at if you are interested in joining this trip.  You would be expected to book your own accommodations, but Paul will arrange for you to join with them on the shuttle form Pittsburgh to Cumberland.  It’s a great ride!

Annual Frederick Pedalers Meeting

March 24, 2018, 12:00 PM at the William R. Talley Rec Center, 121 North Bentz Street, Frederick, MD 21701

Pre-Meeting Rides – There will be a C ride and a CC ride starting at 10:00 AM at the Talley Center

At the meeting, pizza and drinks will be provided.  Members are asked to bring a salad or dessert to share.  Please RSVP so we have an idea of how much pizza and drinks to buy.  RSVP to Terry at

Club Elections – We will be holding elections for the club officers at the meeting.  We are still open to nominating, and we will accept nominations from the floor at the meeting.

Annual Awards – As in the past, we will give awards to the top three ride leaders of the year.

Speaker – Art Anderson will speak about travel cycling.  He and his wife, Julane, are experienced touring bicyclists and he will be able to offer insights.

Accessory Swap – A table will be set up for an accessory swap to accommodate items.  (No bikes please!)

Old Jerseys – A few club jerseys will be available for sale at a discount price.

New Jerseys – New jerseys are being designed.  They will be displayed at the meeting with a sizing kit.  Orders can be taken.
