On Sunday nine of us left Monocacy Middle School: Vicki Crum, Harry deMoll, Ray Gable, Paul Lentz, Mike Procario, Terri Baker, Kibby Powell, Brian King and myself. We enjoyed beautiful weather for our Sunday ride, which took us up Mountaindale Road until we could go no further due to gravel.
A stop at the Mountaindale Convenience Store was time for the group to give me a little lesson on how to take pictures on my new smart phone. I just got it on Saturday, and it was making me feel very dumb!
Ray, Mike, and Harry tried to coast all the way from top of the hill on Putman to the intersection with Bethel Road. None of them made it all the way on Sunday. Ray made it the furthest as usual. We had a nice time riding and talking with each other. Thanks for all who came out!
Wednesday evening 10 riders signed up for the C level ride; four dropped out before we started when they reconsidered the hills on my “Clyde Young/Cash Smith Roads”; Dublin and Cash Smith. So we ended up with six riders, Tom Doker and his wife Lisa (new to Frederick and hopefully will be joining the Club), Mike Procario, Kelly Moore, Dave Sweeney and me doing full 18.5 mile with its hills. We all got to see the beautiful view of the Frederick County farmland and mountains from Cash Smith road and the historic brick home and wall of the house Cash Smith lived in. After the ride five of us dined at Ledo’s Pizza.
